On this day of excitement, we traveled around just to see what we smacked into. We found a few places to stop and shop, and a few pictures to take.
This was one of the many historic covered bridges in Oregon. It was right down the road from the Butte Creek Mill. It was 9/11, hence all the flags. These are all off limits from motorized vehicles, and suprisingly not a home for squatters.
The real bridge that vehicles can cross. Boring... I know.
We should all know what this is about by now.
Yes, that sign does say, "WARNING, Contaminated Water. E-Coli/Keep Out. This creek is not safe. No wading or swimming." And yes, there were a few personal items under the bridge from the homeless who I'm sure were bathing in the water. Did you know the percentage of homeless in Medford, Oregon is something like 19%!!!! Wow. Rediculous.
We stopped off at a cute little antique shop where we found all kinds of trinkets to lust over.
Box of locks. Don't know why I am so in love with old locks recently.
This was a decoration in the restroom of this antique shop. I guess the building was originally a gas station with the owner's house attached. It was renovated a few times over the years, but currently the antique shop. It was really creative, in the kitchen were the kitchen antiques, the bathroom had the personal hygeine antiques, the children's room had the children's toys... etc.
I have no idea why this lady decided to hang ties from her tree as art. Maybe she got her husband's tie collection in their bitter divorce.
Really intricate bird houses. Again with the ties.
Riane and Jake at lunch. Had tasty little sammies and stared out the window at the Rogue River.
I was trying to get a little closer than she was, I guess. We gotta learn how to take pictures where we don't look like a couple.
Had to grab a shot of the beer tap.
You could sit outside and have your lunch, but I think we all know by now how I feel about the sun.
I was such a creeper. I sat here for about 25 minutes waiting for this ol guy to cast his line again. He was fly-fishing right there on the bank by the restaurant. There were people rafting down the river at the same time. Fish must not mind too much.
