Farmstands and fresh flowers

One of my favorite things about Oregon is that there is fresh produce EVERYWHERE!! It is easy to be truly passionate about organic foods when you are surrounded by such beauty and fresh goods. You don't need to buy an ounce of perishable items at the store with all this on every corner. Sorry for the crappy phone pictures, but I just wasn't prepared for greatness when we stopped by Seven Oaks Farm on a hot afternoon after dipping in the pool.

A chart mapping precisely when your favorite crop will be ready. Handy, although will be a little off this year. I hear all of Oregon has had an unseasonably wet summer. (Don't know what the hell they're talking about... it has been hot as hell since we have been here.)

"Oh ya know, just some garlic, onions and potatoes that I picked this morn..."

I will be going back and snipping myself a pretty bouquet, so what if I only have a  cheap plastic cup for a vase. This place is just too cool!

Fell in love with this sign. Hey, at least they are honest!

I have no idea what kind of flower (I should because they were all labeled), but I want one.

An old original log cabin that was used for a stage-stop in the late 1800's that was on the side of the road from Yreka, California. This is a recreation of what it would have looked like back then. Amazing to see the true antiques this family has collected to pull this off.

 The old stove still stands.

Of course if there are animals involved Shawna will be present. These geese eat dried corn bits with a side of Finger a-la Jessica smothered in a LetGoofMeAsshole sauce.

You can read the sign, but a real millstone. Unsure of what it was used for, but a millstone none the less.

This is at the farm stand right down the road which we frequent. It is fascinating to learn all the little facts about where things come from during a season and why.

The inside of the same farmstand. They have books, jelly, salsa, bowls, doggie treats and much more.

Love Oregon!!
