GI

Separated from Downtown Vancouver by False Creek is Granville Island. It is alarmingly akin to Seattle, but don't ever let a Canadian know I said that. The northwest is weird... Seattle hates Portland, Vancouver B.C. hates Seattle, Portland just thinks they're better than everyone else so they are seemingly immune to it all. Anywhoo... back to Canada. If I forgot to mention this already, Shawna and I had a few days to kill before my mom came to Washington to visit and neither of us had ever stepped foot out of the country. We had received our passports a long time ago, but could never find enough time where we were both off. We had planned to see it all by spending some time in Victoria and then finish off the trip in Vancouver. Because the transportation was quite the debacle, we couldn't make the Victoria portion work out. Which meant that I didn't get to see northern Washington, hike to the lighthouse OR take a cool ferry into Canada. Well, guess there's always next time. What we DID learn however, is that there is plenty to occupy your time in Vancouver. You have seen some of our adventures, now here is the rest...

Standing on the dock at Granville Island, looking across False Creek to downtown Vancouver.

They had quite the popular public market as well. It was very similar to Pike's Place, but not quite as big and not nearly as touristy. The conclusion? Better than Seattle.

Ahhhh... the fresh fruits and veggies in January!

Shawna tried some local gelato, so I said I simply must try the lemon tart. Very tart indeed.

Honestly, no clue.
