Yes, foks... this was it. The best concert there ever was. City and Colour. I don't know how many ways I can possibly say this, but seriously people if you aren't already worshiping this band you should look them up RIGHT NOW!! Dallas Green has the voice of an angel, I had goosebumps the whole time. Shawna eventually got sick of me smacking her arm and saying things like, "Oh my God, this is my favorite song by them!" and, "No wait, THIS is my favorite song!" followed by, "Sweet baby Jesus, I could die at this very moment and be fufilled." Thank goodness she was pretty excited herself or I could have been in for one serious beatdown by the end of the night. I had managed to weasel my way to the very front of the 21-and-older section so I had a perfectly unobstructed view of Mr Green. Ahhh... such an amazing night in Portland. Here are a few snapshots of the night when we could pull ourselves away from oogling the band to remember to capture the moment.
Got this one for Pauly D.
This was the opening band, they were horrible. It is so funny how people think they can start a band from nothing but their heartbroken nonsensical diary entries, leftover garage tools (a saw) and violin bows and someone's mother's basement. Ugh... not a fan. Watching the dude in the back with the hat and scarf rock out was entertaining enough to make it through.
They are about to make it onstage! Our feet hurt, we are tired from the long drives from Ashland and Washington, but we are here and so excited we hardly even notice.
And here they are!! I got horrible pictures, some videos turned out but I will never forget this show.
Oh, Dallas. You make my life complete with your heart-wrenching stories and silly mannerisms.
After the awesome show, we made a trip to Voo-Doo Doughnuts in Portland. We knew it would be our last opportunity to really spend any time in P-town so of course we had to make the best of it.
Oh No!!
Dear Shawna, some things you have to keep to yourself.
So I will start off by saying that I am not a fan of maple anything (besides syrup). I hear all this madness about maple/bacon doughnuts being the bomb-diggety so I just had to try it. What better place than Voo-Doo Doughnuts - the best doughnut place in the world. Folks? It was amazing!! I will for sure do that again if I ever make it back.
